Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) is a life changing, game changing and transformative solution to hair loss.
It is a unisex cosmetic procedure that involves tattooing the scalp to create the illusion of new hair follicles. Pigment is deposited below the epidermis layer using a precise stippling or dotting method.

During our small group Calgary SMP training classes, you'll learn the art from 2 highly skilled artists : Inkd SMP Director Ana James (AJ ) and our Calgary affiliate partner Kenna Keough, owner of YYC Micropigmentation.
Inkd SMP Director and lead trainer AJ has been an SMP specialist since 2019, completing over 1000 flawless client transformations to date.... she's also a Calgary native!
Ana is PASSIONATE about long term client happiness and healed results and is regarded as one of the SMP's industry's most skilled artists and successful business women.
AJ holds a Cert IV TAE Trainer and Assessor Certification and is one of few PMU trainers is who is officailly qualified to create and design Accredited courses. She has designed Inkd SMP's training courses to be well structured, highly informative and on par with accredited programs.
Kenna Keough
Kenna is a rising star in the Canadian SMP industry, becoming Calgary's #1 artist in only 2 years!
She is a skin specialist who also has a diverse background in Medical Aesthetics and laser tattoo removal.
As a laser tattoo removal technician, Kenna knows the importance of proper SMP education and application.

Small group training with a focus on building your hands on skills and correct techniques - Learn how to get world class SMP results from the very start. Two highly experienced trainers to assist you and ensure you get essential one-on-one time.
One of the most important skills to master as an SMP artist is how to manoeuvre through different skin types.
Models : Students will have the opportunity to work on a minimum of 2 live models during training. Models may be male or female with varying degrees of hair loss. All models are provided by Inkd SMP.
Photo and video content for your portfolio use will be take during training.
If you have a friend or family member who's keen to receive a treatment, you're more than welcome to bring them along as your model - please advise us beforehand.

Ongoing Mentoring
Following completion of your course our team will be available for ongoing mentoring and skills assistance.
After training you may book in a shadow session with Kenna to observe your models' healed results and receive feedback on your work. Based on availability.
All students will receive an invitation to the Inkd SMP private Whatsapp group. Receive feedback and advice from SMP artists from all over the world! Grow and network in a supportive and encouraging community.
Students who wish to receive more hands on practice with additional models may book in 1 or 2 day advanced training. with Kenna.
Potential Earnings as an SMP Artist
This is one of the very few educational investments that has the potential to cover it's cost back very fast - within the first few clients!
The average Scalp Micropigmentation treatments cost from $2000 -3500+ based on the treatment type.
Each treatment requires 2-4 sessions to complete.
As a new artist taking only ONE new client a week @ $2000 each, that's a possibility to earn $104 000 per year, with no capped potential!

Prerequisites: Infection control certification requirements vary by country and province or state. It is highly recommended to complete a Maintain Infection Prevention for Skin Penetration and/or Bloodbourne Pathogens certifications before working with clients. Students are responsible for ensuring their Infection Control requirements for their own home/work state after course completion.
